Jacob's pension papers state that he was a resident of Chester Co., PA in 1823. He petitioned the Court of Common Pleas at West Chester, stating his wife, Elizabeth was in Lancaster. He was infirm and weak from old age, unable to work or sustain himself. His petition further states their two sons were killed in the War of 1812. As far as is known, Jacob & Elizabeth had no other descendants. Jacob died in the Lancaster County Alms House in 1840 at age 86.
His Pension Records #W3613 BLW# 84015-160-55. Soldier applied 05-13-1823 in Chester County, PA aged 70. He enlisted at Lancaster Co., PA he stated that he had 2 sons but both were killed in the War of 1812. Soldier widow applied 09-01-1838 in Montgomery Co., PA. She lived in Germantown, PA, but was on a visit to Samuel Zearfoss in Montgomery Co., PA when she applied. Widow applied for BLW 7-27-1855 and Anna Lewis and Mary Buck both of Norristown were witnesses to her BLW application. Widow was still living on 9-29-1868 and stated that she was 100 years and 11 months of age, a resident of Philadelphia, PA, George Lewis and Anna F. Gara were her witnesses.
In 1858, Elizabeth (then 92) petitioned the court of Common Pleas at Norristown, Montgomery Co., PA. She had been residing in Germantown, PA with a Miss Lewis. Elizabeth died on April 3, 1869 at the age of 101 years and 6 months. Her grave marker has been protected over the years by an old yew bush and could be clearly read in 1978.
No information about their two sons is known.
